Due to the flexibility and diversity of our production equipment, we can print a wide variety of labels for many different commercial and industrial applications. Using our equipment and expertise, we can print labels having the following characteristics:
Art & Design
We have a full service art department that is equipped to take a label from its initial design concept to the final product. We can create labels from customer furnished artwork or we can create a design for the customer. Please visit our Design Services page for more information on creating custom designs for your label.
Ink Colors Available
We can print up to 6 colors in one printing pass. We have the ability to accurately match most PMS colors in house and/or we can create many PMS colors using a combinations of the basic CYMK process colors. Labels are printed using a wide variety of both water-based or UV cured inks that have special characteristics such as high opacity, scratch resistance, fade resistance, high gloss or dull finish, etc.
Label Stocks
With the diversity of our equipment and manufacturing process, we can print on a wide variety of papers and synthetic films with equal effectiveness. We carry a full line of paper, films, and over laminates that have adhesives that are suitable for almost any application.
Label Packaging
Labels can be delivered in rolls or sheets. We can deliver labels in sheets up to 9-1/2” x 12” in size, or in rolls of labels that are wound on cores that are 1” or 3” in diameter. We can also slit either the face or backside of a label to facilitate the removal of the label from the liner or we can create a multi-piece label (a “label within a label”).
Sizes and Shapes
We have over 500 different tools and dies in our inventory that allow us to print rectangles, circles, ovals and many other unique sizes and shapes. We can print labels ranging in size from less than one square inch to more than 100 square inches. We also have a large inventory of special shaped dies that allow us to print labels shaped like the State of Texas, etc. or even in the shape of a flying bat.
Print Quality
We specialize in printing very high quality labels in 4 color process. Printing up to 150 line screens, we can accurately reproduce images having very fine highlights and shadows and/or that have subtle colors and hues. Since our entire printing process is controlled and monitored in house through every stage of production, we can produce the highest level of quality that our equipment is capable of printing.
Hot Foil Stamping and Embossing
Our equipment has the capacity to print, die cut, foil stamp and/or emboss labels all in one pass through the press. Foil stamping is done with inexpensive brass plates or dies that are created from the negatives we create from the customer’s artwork. Using heat and pressure, we can transfer a highly detailed imaged that is etched on a bass plate through a roll of metallic foil on to the face of the label. This heat transfer process imprints a metallic gold, silver or other color image on to the label stock that is integrated into the design of the label. There are numerous patterns and colors of metallic foils available in either gloss or dull finishes.
Using brass male and female counter dies, we can also create raised or depressed images in the label stock that can be integrated with the printed image and foil stamping. Embossing dies are also inexpensive and are created from negatives generated from the client’s artwork.
The hot foil stamping and embossing dies used on our press are inexpensive. A simple hot foil stamping die can cost as little as $100. The same hot foil stamping die can cost $1000 or more if label is printed on a rotary or flexopress.
Varnishing, Over Laminating & Tinting
We have the ability to coat paper and film stocks with a variety of coatings to either give the stock additional printing characteristics such as the ability to be subsequently imprinted by a thermal transfer printer, or to enhance the printed image by varnishing the label with a high gloss, UV cured varnish. We also can over-laminate the label with film laminates to either protect the label from moisture or ink scuffing, or to enhance the image by creating a gloss or dull matte appearance to the printed image.
We can also “flood coat” or tint paper, film and foil stocks with flexographic ink to give the stock a special color, or apply special top coatings to create special effects after the label stocks are printed and converted into finished labels.
